Drum Making & Native Spiritual Teachings Workshop

Description: This exciting workshop comes to Barrie for one day only with Cree teacher Hector Sackabuckshkum coming from the North to bring his knowledge and teachings to share with us. In this class you will learn how to make your own drum, as well as learning about Native traditional spiritual teachings, songs, ceremonies and stories. Participants are invited to join us the following day as well for a healing drumming circle at the lake, with their beautiful new drums. There is a very special feeling about making something with your own hands that you can use to make music....don't miss this amazing opportunity! Price: $225.00 includes all materials for drum Deadline for registration July 8, 2017 Hector Sackabuckshkum is from a small village called Moose River Crossing. Now residing in Kapuskasing in Northern ON, Hector grew up on the land hunting and trapping, learned about his culture at a very early age, and still practices his traditions and culture today. He is a trained certified counsellor, and as well as a traditional hand drum maker, artist, male traditional pow wow dancer, and pipe carrier. Hector conducts ceremonies, healing circles, and will be available for counselling and healing while he is here in Barrie.
