Description: Barrie just became a bit sweeter as volunteers and members of FruitShare planted over 20 different fruit trees and bushes at Shear Park as the fourth location of Barrie's Food Forest. "We believe everyone should have access to fresh healthy food," said Barrie FruitShare's coordinator Jenna Zardo. "By planting fruit trees in public parks we're encouraging everyone to get outside and pick their own food." Once the trees are mature, residents will be able to help themselves to any food that looks ready to eat; just make sure to leave some for your neighbours! Thank you to the Rotary Club of Barrie for sponsoring the food forest and to the City of Barrie for supporting this initiative. To learn more, please visit www.fruitsharebarrie.ca/
